Orissa socio-cultural
Association, formerly known as Orissa Cultural Association
(OCA) established in 20th of may 1979, is an association
of non-resident oriyas at Ahmedabad. It’s an association
of social, educational and cultural veracity to cater
to common cultural interests among people in a small
sphere of society.
Registered under Societies Regulation Act & Public
Trust Act, it has a strength of more than 300 members
including senior people from Civil Services, Financial
& Research Institutions, Public & Private Sectors,
etc
The association celebrates a
number of Oriya functions throughout the year. The Basant
Panchami or Saraswati Puja, Utkal Divas, Raja Sankranti,
Rathayatra, Kumar Purnima or Kumarotsava to name a few.
The association have always came to the forefront in
an event of natural calamaties of any form. It always
forwarded a helping hand, whether it is in the event
of 26 Jannuary Killer quake, 29 October Super Cyclone,
25th december Tsunami or Surat flooding-06. The association
members have always come forward and joined their hands
to help the people in need.
